The University of Nottingham has published a press release highlighting not only the Photon Bricks project (a LEGO-based Michelson interferometer) but also my newly launched series of public demonstrations on quantum interferometry!

As part of the Cosmic Titans exhibition, I designed a gallery-safe optical table and set up a single-photon interferometer by Thorlabs. In this experiment, individual photons behave as quantum particles, vividly demonstrating the Schrödinger’s cat principle.

But unlike a cat that is both dead and alive, these photons take both paths of the interferometer simultaneously, creating interference patterns, one particle at a time. Mind-blowing!
