The paper, written together with my Nottingham / KCL / São Paulo team is now available on arXiv. In the article, we develop a theoretical framework for inviscid, but vorticity-containing vortex flows and discuss the conditions under which this system can develop instabilities with links to the physics of black holes – especially a phenomenon called the black hole bomb.
